Getting Started with a New Design

By the end of this article, you will be able to successfully start a new FOND Collaboration project through the step by step process provided.

Upon signing in to your account, you are able to begin a new project through the following steps:

  • Click on the New Project button in the upper right hand corner. From there, an option to click on either Planner or Collaboration will display.
  • Select the Collaboration option on the right hand side to move forward with your Collaboration project.
  • Once you’ve selected Collaboration, you will either start a new import of your data or use the settings from an existing project. Note that if you select the 'new import' option, the styling of that project will have arbitrary styling.
  • Once your GIS project files are uploaded you are ready to begin sharing, commenting, and styling your project to your liking!

Import Using Existing Settings

You have the option to import your design using settings from an existing project.

  • Within the setup, select the ‘Use settings within an existing project’ and select the project as well as the version, if necessary.
  • Click continue and you will move through to the next step of your project setup.
  • Note that when you are importing from existing porojects, the styles will translate directly as they were from the imported files.

Uploading GIS Files

When you are uploading GIS files, FOND Collaboration supports: SHP, GeoJSON, KML, and TAB files. It will convert to WGS 84 - EPSG: 4326. You may select a file, or use the drag and drop feature. An error message will appear if you are missing any necessary files for your import.
